For this assignment I stepped back and analyzed my work every few minutes. For most projects I wouldnt usually do this. I did it with this project only because it is a bit of a complicated design with the vines intertwining throughout the instrument. It was also a little bit difficult to think about what to cut out before I cut it out only because if I messed up there was no going back.
I definitely did consider how my ideas would work before I took the X-Acto knife to my paper. The white had to be separated from the other white parts of the design with black. This is because if you had white on white or black on black you wouldn't be able to tell what it was or the distinct shape of your design. That's why I absolutely had to consider what I wouldn't and would do because I had a lot of shapes that would end up being white on white so I had to add a black line to separate my shape from the white background. This made me have to consider how my design would work and what it would look like a lot through your this project.
Some of the challenges that I came upon during this project were very easy to go around I just had to stop and think about it before I went ahead and cut it. Any irreversible challenges that I faced including cutting the wrong part was an easy fix just to glue it back on when I glued the whole thing on the final sheet of paper. Other times if I made a mistake I would have to step back and look at it and decide on how I would make my project look with that mistake in it.
My work never took an unexpected turn due to to a major mistake. I did make plenty of small mistakes but those were easy fixes and nothing to huge to completely change my design. Nothing ever happened that was unplanned. I thought through the project and thought how everything would look before I actually cut anything so I knew that nothing would happen that wasn't planned. I made sure I was really prepared with this project and really thought it through so a big mistake that can completely change my project would never happen.
